Drama

Drama for Grade 11s is mandatory and as part of the course students produce a major play. This involves all the backstage work as well as the acting. This experience markedly enhances students’ self-confidence and sense of accomplishment. Graduates of UMEI often remember their Grade 11 drama production as a highlight of their time at UMEI.

Other opportunities for drama include a Junior Drama course, Drama Club productions, Sears Drama Festival competitions and a wide variety of small skits in chapel and class. Talents in carpentry, sewing, visual arts, sound and lighting, and computer technology are further developed in the drama program. There is something for everyone and the outcome is a student who has more to offer to his/her post-secondary school endeavour.
